We are excited to introduce after40 Indianapolis, our style and fashion magazine, and companion website, for women after 40.  This project has been a labor of love for us.  We feel so strongly about our concept of truly helping women our age, in a way not currently available.  There are literally dozens of fashion magazines available today which commonly target a younger demographic.  After turning 40, we have found that we relate less and less to these publications.  Although they are slick and entertaining, we are typically left without effective direction.  We are left feeling a little on the outside looking in.  We are looking in on the latest trends but feel lost when wondering how or if they translate to us.   We want after40 to empower Indianapolis women, with the knowledge needed to reclaim or discover their sense of style.  Our message to women after 40 is to celebrate the person you’ve become, regardless of size, shape or age.  After40 is your resource for such empowerment.

Our format will involve selecting five after 40 makeover winners on a quarterly basis.  These women of various ages and body types will receive total makeovers by our group of expert stylists.  Our goal for our readers is to relate to, and benefit from, the style advice our winners receive during their makeovers.  As our publication matures, we hope to be a resource for after 40 women on issues of style, health and general well being.

We would like to thank our first group of makeover winners.  They were more fun then we ever imagined.  We were inspired by their patience, candor, lack of inhibition, and appreciated their encouragement.  Sharon Brooks, one of our winners, summed up the experience best by saying "I wish every woman after 40 could experience this opportunity.  It is an opportunity to find the inner beauty that we all have, and to celebrate our distinctions. All of the attributes that once clearly defined me, have slowly been buried under all of the priorities in my life.  Personally, this experience has helped restore my self-confidence. It has driven me to a new conviction and passion and to acknowledge my true talents.”
